How to Use

1. Enter a password in the topmost text box
2. Cut-and-paste text into the left-side text box, press Encrypt to encrypt. The encrypted text appears in the right-side text box. Cut-and-paste this into your text document, MS-Word document, form field, or anywhere else.
3. To Decrypt: cut-and-paste encrypted text into the right-side text box, then click Decrypt. The decrypted text appears in the left-side text box.

Options

• Select the "Use Compression" checkbox to compress in addition to encrypting. Compression should only be used with larger amounts of text. When decrypting, make sure the compression checkbox is checked.
• To encrypt to a different encoding, select "Base64", "Hex", or "URL" prior to encrypting. This has no effect on the strength/security of the encryption. If you do not know what these options mean, leave it set to the default. (They are primarily for software developers that may need different encodings.)
• To encrypt each line of text individually, check the "Encrypt/Decrypt Each Line Separately" checkbox.

Installing

Download the encrypt tool and double-click to install. After installing, click on the Windows Start Menu, select All Programs, then select Chilkat/EncryptText.exe.
