Chilkat Software Releases XML Parser for ASP
New Component Provides Extremely Fast and Efficient XML Parsing
for ASP Server-Side Web Applications
WHEATON, IL--(INTERNET WIRE)--June 29, 2002-- Continuing to expand
its presence in the software components market space, Chilkat
Software, Inc., a developer of XML, encryption, compression, email,
and messaging Windows ActiveX components, today announced the
release of its latest software component.
"ASP XML" is a super-fast, low-memory usage, XML parser
specifically designed to be used server-side in ASP web applications.
Users prefer ASP XML because it provides a simple DOM (Document
Object Model) and can parse XML files 10 to 100 times faster than
other DOM-based parsers. "Working with large XML data files
has been a problem that needed to be addressed", said Matt
Fausey, President and CEO of Chilkat Software. "You could
get performance using the low-level event-driven model offered
by SAX, but the development cost was always high. On the other
hand, if you took a DOM-based approach to minimize development
costs, parsing and querying was much too slow for interactive
or (semi) real-time applications. The answer was to build a DOM-based
parser that boosted performance dramatically." In addition
to performance issues, ASP XML addresses other problems commonly
encountered when working with large XML data files, such as the
ability to filter errant characters.
ASP XML also integrates with Chilkat's character conversion component
to allow for converting an entire XML document to another character
set in one line of code.
